Taste the Taco Picture Book

“Taste the Taco - A Lois and Marley Story” is a children’s picture book I wrote, designed and illustrated. This is my fifth picture book I produced, but my first in a different artistic style. Story was at the foundation and I created two unique charaters to tell the story in a fun and engaging way that kids and adult readers would enjoy. This was a challenging project and one that started from simple ideas on paper. I was able to use my skills as a graphic designer and illustrator to create a final finshed book that can now be sent out into the world.

Using the app Procreate, each of the illustrations in the book started as a rough sketch. I then did a more refined pencil work and inked each page. Then I set base colors. Finally, working out the shadows, highlights, details and any textures leading to creating a final art file for use in the book layout.
